Green
Loans
Green Loans are a government initiative
that allows householders to improve their homes sustainability through
interest free loans of up to $10 000.
Once your home has been assessed through the Home Sustainability
Assessment Report, you may apply for a Green Loan to action the
recommendations made by the report. Eligible homeowners can apply
for a Green Loan and the insulation or solar water rebate.
REC’s are an electronic form
of currency which can be traded in for a discount on the installation
of a small scale energy system or sold to a buyer on the REC’s
Registry. You may be eligible to receive REC’s by installing
either a; solar (photovoltaic) power system, wind power system,
hydro power system, solar hot water system, or a heat pump hot water
system.
Solar Credits are part of the Renewable
Energy Target (RET) scheme recently passed in parliament. Solar
Credits enables households and businesses that install small-scale
solar PV systems, to multiply the number of tradeable REC’s
created by eligible installations.
