Roof ventilation might
seem like a minor consideration but when installed properly, it
reduces the heat loading in your roof cavity, making your home more
comfortable and energy efficient. It also reduces moisture in cooler
months, reducing mould and mildew build-up.
Ventilation is simply the process of replacing stale,
hot air with clean, fresh air. Vents extract super-heated air from
your roof space enabling the flow of fresh air through tiles or
under-eave vents. If left unventilated, roof-space temperatures
can reach up to 70° in summer.
Ducted air-conditioning systems operate far more efficiently with
ventilation and this helps to reduce energy bills. Up to 12 litres
of moisture per day is drawn into the roof from shower and kitchen
fans. Ventilation removes this moisture, stopping the build-up of
mould and mildew.
Ventilation puts nature to work by utilising the benefits of natural,
fresh air - not treated or recycled air - for your peace of mind
and wellbeing.
